Blepharoplasty Houston (Eyelid Surgery)
Blepharoplasty for a More Youthful, Refreshed Look
The eyes are the focal point of the face and contribute substantially to your overall facial appearance. Bags beneath the eyes, wrinkled drooping layers of skin on the eyelids, and sagging eyebrows give the entire face a perpetually tired or sad expression.
Blepharoplasty in Houston at Aesthetic Surgery Institute is performed by Dr. Do, a double board-certified cosmetic surgeon with over 20 years of experience. Eyelid surgery can restore a more alert, refreshed appearance by removing excess skin and fat from the upper lids, lower lids, or both. It is commonly combined with a facelift, brow lift, or other facial rejuvenation procedures for more comprehensive results.

About the Procedure
Am I a Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?
Good candidates for eyelid surgery in Houston are adults in good general health who are bothered by excess skin, puffiness, or under-eye bags that make them appear tired or older than they feel. Upper blepharoplasty may also be appropriate for patients whose hooded eyelids are beginning to affect their field of vision. Candidates should be non-smokers with realistic expectations. Dr. Do will evaluate your eyelid anatomy, skin quality, and overall facial balance during your free consultation to recommend the most appropriate approach.
Post Operation Care
The sutures are removed on the post-operative fifth day. Because eyelid skin is thin, you should expect some swelling and black-and-blue discoloration after surgery. Your eyes may be temporarily sensitive to light and susceptible to excess tearing or dryness. You may want to wear dark glasses for a couple of weeks to protect your eyes from wind and sun irritation and avoid eye strain from prolonged reading or television viewing.
Most patients can return to work within 7–10 days. You will be able to resume wearing makeup and contact lenses once your surgeon confirms healing is progressing well — typically within 1–2 weeks after your blepharoplasty in Houston.
- Due to scar contraction, rarely there is a pulling of the lid downwards called ectropion
- Malposition of the eyelids can occur in a minority of patients, which can be corrected easily
- Dryness of the eyes and visible scarring are rare
